Vemork
Group tour
Servicebeskrivelse
The story of Vemork is a story of people, machine power, struggle and culture. An industrial adventure with both heroes and everyday toilers in the lead roles. Get to know the world's most famous military operations, hear the stories and see the interactive exhibition in Tungtvannkjelleren. We travel by bus from the agreed location early in the morning and drive towards Rjukan, and the Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum. Here you get a close encounter with Norwegian industrial and war history. Vemork is perhaps best known for its war history. This was the scene of one of the most important acts of sabotage during the Second World War, when Norwegian saboteurs prevented the Germans from developing nuclear weapons from the heavy water that was produced here. We get an orientation/introduction to the exhibition and Tungstvannkelleren before we look around on our own. The exciting exhibition "Heroes in Telemark" has a local feel. We also watch the film "If Hitler had the bomb" Here the four famous sabotage actions against local heavy water production are dramatized, but great emphasis is also placed on all the other local actions during the war years at Rjukan. We will be served lunch before returning home. The tour includes: - Modern tour bus with a pleasant driver from Tele-Tur - Entrance, guided tour and lunch at the Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum - Coffee stop with something to eat on the way home.
